Taking Famvir
You should always take Famvir tablets whole without crushing them. You can take them with or without food. The dosage will vary depending on the condition you are treating. For example, if you are suffering from shingles, is usually administered Famvir 500 mg three times a day for one week.
For the treatment of genital herpes, you usually administered 125 mg twice daily for 5 days. You may need to take 250 mg of Famvir twice daily for up to one year, in order to prevent a recurrence of the condition you are treating.
Famvir side effects
The most common side effects when taking Famvir headaches. However, you can also experience dizziness, vomiting, diarrhea, unusual weakness or fatigue, or nausea. If you notice any symptoms particularly troublesome, you should talk with your doctor.
